Last Update: April 23, 2024
Media and Press Rules.
- OffKai Expo has established the following rules and guidelines to ensure a groundwork where media, guests, attendees, and the convention staff can feel conformable, respected and safe. “Press” refers to any individual accepted to report on/record/cover the activities at OffKai Expo, as well as their assistants and helpers, for non-personal use.
- These guidelines also apply for anyone who shows up to the convention with “professional” equipment (e.g. professional camera setups on tripods and/or extensive audio recording devices.)

Press Rules/Guidelines.
Press must apply for a Press badge on the OffKai Expo website a minimum of 2 weeks before the start of the event.
Press agrees to the standard Attendee Code of Conduct on top of the other requirements listed in these rules.
Press MUST always display their Press badge while they are participating in press activities at the convention.
Press MUST request consent from any individual or group/event being the focus of any photograph, recording or other form of media and inform them about their Press status.
Consent can be either verbal or written.
General overview shots or B-roll where no one is the intended focus does not require consent. Please consider the situation and be aware of any possible privacy concerns before you record.
Generally, direct recordings of panels and events are not permitted unless explicit permission is obtained from the Guest/Panelist/Presenter or OffKai Expo Staff. If there is any question, reach out directly to Event Staff. It is best to obtain permission BEFORE the event begins.
Privacy. We want to highlight this section in the Code of Conduct and put emphasis on these points to all Press
As a VTuber-centered convention, a VTuber’s right to privacy is paramount. OffKai Expo may revoke badges and/or eject from the convention any individuals endangering someone’s privacy. This is including, but not limited to:
Attempting to gain access to private details of a VTuber without their explicit consent.
Spreading, discussing, questioning, and/or making threats concerning private details of anyone within a public space.
Any and all actions that could be understood as doxxing.
While gossip and speculations may be tempting, we ask that all participants at OffKai Expo, including attendees, staff, volunteers, and guests, refrain from discussing private details of any VTuber in public and/or in presentations. This is including, but not limited to:
Personally identifiable information and private life details, such as real names, gender, age, addresses, places of work, relationship/marital status, etc.
Unconfirmed connections between a VTuber and their past, such as past VTuber work.
Making jokes or implications that hint at a connection between a VTuber and their private information.
